Hi! I’m Neil, a 6′ 4″ beardy bear and that’s me below throwing myself 100% into a wedding. I’m a wedding photographer, with a natural, relaxed style based in the beautiful city of Sheffield. I shoot weddings all over the UK and the world – literally the other side of the world – take a look here.
I live in a fairly normal house in one of the old mining villages with awesome countryside walks and bike rides on my doorstep. I am married and have been for the last 8 years.
We booked, organised and held our wedding within four months of deciding to do it and it was brilliant. So don’t get too stressed if you don’t have three years to plan it!
We have 4 children – 3 boys and a girl, a very loveable but short on braincells Golden Labrador called Jester 🦮 a cat with the loudest most persistent meow in the world, she is called Marmite and you can guess why 🐈,…. two guinea pigs called Buzz and Woody 🐱 who sound like the have squeaky dog toys stuck in their mouths!.
My favourite things in the world are coffee and travelling, and when I’m not shooting weddings you’ll find me walking and discovering new trails in the Peak District.
I spend a lot of time planning future adventures and spending weekends out and about in the wilderness.
My love of people watching is what got me into wedding photography. I’ve been a wedding photographer for 10 years and over 100 weddings. Its true what they say “find something you love to do and you’ll never work another day in your life”. Well, apart from the accounts, marketing, social media, taxes….taking the pictures is definitely the best bit.
The greatest thing about my job is being there of one the best days in your lives and watching people laughing, crying, drinking, falling over and generally having an absolutely awesome day.
The vows, the speeches, the party, the food 😉 – pretty much the whole day, I Love all of it – especially if you feed me too – Disclaimer: it not compulsory to feed your wedding photographer but no one wants to see me hangry 😀
My couples value good, natural looking photography, and the last thing they want is a photographer who makes them pose all day and takes over their wedding day.
My wedding photography style is best described as modern documentary. I capture all the important moments like the ceremony, confetti, cake cutting speeches but also all the unplanned moments that happen all while you get on with having a fantastic wedding.
Couples who book me are generally not too hung up on having a Marie Claire photoshoot, they just want to have an amazing time with their favourite people and don’t particularly like having their photo taken.
If this sounds like you, and you like the way I do things then drop me a message and lets see if I’m free on your date.
